ONE NIGHT IN HARLEM
First row mezzanine seats were awesome. Saw this show on Saturday, 3/24. Opening was excellent. Unfortunately, the opening led to very high expectations that the show could not sustain in its entirety; however, based on the price-point that these tickets were purchased, it was worth it. What brought energy to the show was Detroit's own -- Alexander Zonjic. His two solos stole the night. The sore spot for me is the ending. Without spoiling the show -- my girlfriend and I did not like how mental illness was portrayed. Nor did we like how the audience felt that the depiction was humorous and this is why I give it only 3-stars. Also, at the intermission, I expected a longer "second half." Instead the second half came to an accelerated finale.
