Backstreet Boy Out On His Own

McLean was a performer from a young age, winning dance competitions, appearing in school plays, and later attending the Florida Academy of Dramatic Arts. In 1992 he responded to a newspaper ad for a music group and became the first member of the Backstreet Boys, setting up the journey to superstardom which would help to define the popular culture of the 90s and 2000s. McLean has appeared on multiple television shows, from Sesame Street to Saturday Night Live, and in 2022 he won RuPaul's Secret Celebrity Drag Race.
