Fear at Magic Bag

Why see Fear?

Californian Punk Rockers Fear!

FEAR emerged from Los Angeles in 1977 and quickly became one of the most notorious and influential bands in the early hardcore punk scene. Fronted by the uncompromising Lee Ving, the band helped define the raw, confrontational energy of West Coast punk - mixing aggressive sound with satire and a willingness to provoke. Their debut album The Record (1982), remains a cornerstone of the genre, while their chaotic 1981 appearance on Saturday Night Live - complete with onstage slam dancing and studio damage - cemented their reputation as one of punk’s most unpredictable acts. Don't miss the punk rock kings as they come to a stage near you!

Despite constant lineup changes (including a brief stint from Flea on bass), FEAR has endured for decades with Ving at its core, continuing to record and perform. With cult documentaries like The Decline of Western Civilization and modern releases like For Right and Order (2023), the band has maintained a legacy built on defiance, one unapologetically outside the mainstream.
