Grand Rapids' Favorite Holiday Show

The first staged performance of The Nutcracker took place in St. Petersburg, Russia, on December 18, 1892, and was a collaborative effort between the great composer Tchaikovsky and the legendary choreographer Marius Petipa. Now the Nutcracker, re-imagined by Grand Rapids native and Polar Express author Chris Van Allsburg, with choreography by Val Caniparoli, returns to dazzle once more this year!

Once again, Grand Rapids' very own ballet company, the Grand Rapids Ballet, brings this magical story to life in a dazzling production. Follow the young adventuress Clara as she journeys into a magical land with her beloved Nutcracker, battling errant Mice and dancing with the Sugar Plum fairy along the way
