Cinderella heads to the Fifties!

Take a step back in time to the early days of television, when families would gather around on a Saturday night to bond and escape from daily drudgery! That is the theme of this sparkling production by Val Caniparoli's glamorous, Fifties'-style retelling of the original fairy tale. Filled to the rafters with haute-couture costumes, hairstyles and even vintage cars, Richard Rodgers' Broadway-inspired score provides some vintage glamor as heroine Nancy tries to capture the heart of the handsome, popular Bob, unbeknownst to her wicked stepsisters!

First premiering in 2004, this high-octane, musical theatre-inspired ballet was first performed by Royal Winnepeg Ballet, and has since found a place in the repertoire of other companies across North America. Complete with the classic characters of the gold-digging stepmother, bratty stepsisters, her loyal dog and of course, the uber-fantastical Fairy Godmother that helps Nancy in the best way she can - by giving the ultimate makeover.
