Why See Michigan Opera Theatre: Faust?

With Caitlin Lynch as Marguerite!

The ultimate in cautionary tales, Faust is the sinister story of Doctor Faust, and aged academic for whom books and science have not provided the answers he seeks. When he realises love and life have passed him by, his thoughts turn to self-murder, only to be saved by the most unlikely associate.

Enter Mephistopheles

Once the bargain is stuck, Doctor Faust finds himself a handsome young gentleman once again, ready to experience the hedonism and seduction he feels he has missed out on. As bait, Mephistopheles places the innocent Marguerite in his way. Once debauched by the infernal pair, she must find a way to deliver herself from temptation and save her soul...
