DARYL HALL & JOHN OATS 2017 CONCERT SUGAR LAND

front row, send section. Superb sound! the talent of theses two men and their band is off the scales. Exactly what we thought it would be, and more. Love their personality, they all seemed to be at home here. Song list was excellent. These men have such incredible talent. 5 tuned guitars, piano, keyboard, singing, the talent is so rich and we completely enjoyed it! They give a great concert! Thoroughly enjoyed it! Thanks for coming to Sugar Land!!!

I LOVED HALL & OATES

I saw Daryl & John when I was in high school. I loved them then and loved them now. I listen everyday when I'm getting ready for work. Love u Daryl.

AMAZING!

I'm so glad that I decided to attend this concert. Daryl and John warmly connected with the audience and their sound was amazing. The band expressed how much they sincerely appreciated the crowd and the new concert hall. We really enjoyed the encore (3 songs). I highly recommend the great concert venue too.

EXCELLENT!

Well, how fortunate to have Hall and Oates revisit Madison on Sunday. They truly enjoyed their evening as did the crowd. We were so fortunate to witness the laid back performance. Thank you, thank you! Perfect evening, perfect music!

FANTASTIC SHOW

We feel so lucky that we got to experience Hall and Oates live in concert. It's hard to believe that Daryl is 72 years old and John is 71. Their voices sounded great like it did in the 80's. Also, the instrumentation was to perfection. Daryl and John are a class act and were so nice and warm to our audience. We had a great time and will remember it fondly when we watch reruns of Live at Daryl's House. Thank You Hall and Oates for coming to perform for us. We do so hope to see you again sometime soon.

GREAT SHOW FOR ROCKERS THEIR AGE

Great play list. Played just about everything I wanted to hear. Playing the songs a bit slower tempo than their hay day. I do think Daryl's voice is starting to dip. The high note train has left the station. Was covered by the backup singers and John.

SOUND CHECK!

Come on Daryl. The time to get your gear ready is before the show. Hard to hear much during the concert due to problems with the sound. Berating the sound guy in front of the audience was also in particularly poor taste. It showed more about you as a person than anything else. Dissappointing.

NOT THE BEST PERFORMANCE

The sound was a little over modulated and some Instruments washed out. The worst part was they would either drag-out sounds longer than the original (most likely to consume time or play less songs overall) and augmenting the lyrics or not singing the lyrics at all. Sara Smile...Hall just did "smile". Very poor quality. We usually stay for concerts to the end but left early with two songs remaining. At least the tickets were cheap.

NOT THEIR BEST!!

We have seen them 3 times and watch the show and YouTube videos regularly. I believe Hall is a gifted writer, player and performer.. and he seems very meticulous with the show and videos. Yet, this concert sound was way off and over done. I videoed a few songs, and they sound much better than being there...maybe the recording minimized the distortion the audience heard! Too bad.. AND... the warm up act sucked.. and played way too long. Not a great show’ Jim

BEWILDERED

I don't know where to start. I had the priveladge of seeing these guys early in their careers so I had a point of reference. Something is seriously wrong with Daryl. My heart was breaking as I witnessed him struggle all night. He didn't know the words to some songs. He talked the words instead of singing them. John Oates bailed him out when he couldn't remember half the bands names. He either has dimentia or he was drunk. I hope it's the ladder because that can be fixed. Songs were overplayed with instrumentals that don't fit in the songs. Pace was slow that it made the songs unrecognizable at first and quite boring. It was very evident that they wanted to play as few songs as possible. I hope Daryl is Ok because the rest of the band particularly Oates was really on. Oates is a class act and I'm sure he's frustrated. I really think they should cancel the tour and get Daryl straightened out whatever the problem may be. I've seen the Who, guys in their 70's play their songs at a 70's pace so why the heck would they slow it down to the point where the songs sounded like shit. On the bright side my daughter got to witness history with dad. She said, I understand why music was so much a part of you life. The eight bands were a delight overall and we danced the day away. We laughed and ate plenty of hoagies and overpriced lemonade. Kool and the gang were great and the nasty delicious had us laughing out asses off.

PHILADELPHIA

Enjoyed our trip to Philadelphia, great city ,great fun...Concert was enjoyable . Hall s vocal cords are changing ....needs to adapt changes with band and .Some sound issues were encountered but never the less a live and enjoyable show . !

ODD SHOW- HALL'S VOICE?

Daryl Hall was really struggling. If it wasn't his continual angry animated hand gestures to the sound guy, it was obvious frustration with the microphone boom adjustment. Midway in, he seemed to have a sudden voice issue, and every song that followed was either "half sung" or he'd sing an almost inaudible low note for every high note in the song (more than just not hitting the extreme highs that every singer loses over time).

A LITTLE DISAPPOINTED

Granted these great musicians have been together for over 50 years but father time seemed to have could up with daryll's vocal cords. He just seemed off. Still had a good time. Squeeze was fricking great!

UNDERWHELMING

100% reiterate every disappointed fan's feedback listed here. That is EXACTLY what occurs. Hall seems absolutely disinterested. I still love them and their music, and I'd pay to see them again. But it was sad to me. Squeeze was absolutely INSANE good. Cannot wait to hear them again. Sax player for H&O was fantastic. It's worth seeing, but there are zero lies in this thread about the feedback, complaining and hand gestures to the sound guys from Hall the entire show.

DISAPPOINTED

I thought the sound was poor. You were not able to hear the different instruments. The show itself was boring. I really like the music and was hoping for a good show. We left the show before the encores.

SOUND AND MUSIC CHOICE

Hall and Oates missed a great opportunity to woo their crowd. Every song played could have been a hit but unfortunately not. We were in Section 103 Row S and the sound was so bad that many times we had trouble hearing “the tune”. I have been to a lot of concerts in my life and this was the only one that disappointed. The 3 hit songs for the encore slightly saved the evening. Sadly, I would not recommend.

YOU PAY YOUR MONEY AND TAKE YOUR CHANCES

Concert felt more like a jam session. Over done lead guitar, annoying feedback from mikes, all combined for a disappointing night. Bright spot was Sax, thought it was drowned out by over amped guitars. Would have liked at least a few classic songs sung as recorded. Jazzy interruptive riffs should have been limited to 20% of the show. Pre-concert meal was exceptional at Riverfront Steakhouse. Hotel shuttle transportation to and from Verizon Arena was excellent. Seats were great, but the concert was not up to expectations.

DISAPPOINTMENT AND DISBELIEF

Let me start by saying that I am 34 years old and I have been digging on Hall and Oates for the last 6 years of my life. Opportunity presented itself to see these guys in Chicago at a smaller venue 5 years ago and unfortunately a work commitment got in the way. My mom attended and she had an amazing time and said they were great. I must agree with half of the other reviewers in that the sound just wasn't the best. I think some of it may be the arena as I have hear others complain about this as well, but John come on! You have been performing for many years...if your mic is having issues don’t angrily berate the sound guy in front of your audience. The hits just didn’t sound like I wanted them to. :(. While I am happy that they came to little old Little Rock I wished i had been able to do this at the other venue 5 years ago instead. I think it would have been a different experience. I did dance the whole night anyway and personally was able to check this one off my bucket list.

MEH

- 12 songs? Tops - Left a few key songs - Overmodulation - Heavy reliance on traditional instrumentation - No enthusiasm - No performer banter

NOT A GREAT CONCERT

I guess it was Hall & Oates it kind of looked like them and sounded a little bit like them

2.0 star rating Peggy from Detroit, Michigan

SOUNDED AWFUL

First off, opening act Squeeze was fantastic. Very hyped up to see Hall&Oates after great opening act. Crowd was on their feet as music began for Maneater. Then Daryl started singing....WHAT??? I wasn't the only one looking around in shock. Also alot of feedback, and didn't experience any feedback with Squeeze, so can't blame the venue. We waited for it to get better, but after about 6 almost unrecognizable songs, we left.

MILWAUKEE 2022

Its time to retire guys. Hall talks the lyrics sometimes. Not good. He had sound issues and was beating up the sound guy verbally in front of the crowd. No banter or fun stories to share with the crowd. Not even appreciation said for the crowd showing up to see and hear them. 80 minute or so setlist. It was over before you knew it. Left before last song to get the hell out of there. Just wasn't worth it. Felt no connection with Hall. Oates did best he could to save the performance. Ill remember and listen to songs on record. Forget the performances.

DISAPPOINTING

We left after maybe 5 songs, hoping they would get better. They sounded terrible. Awful performance. What a waste of money.

1.0 star rating Bill from Baltimore

DISAPPOINTING BUT SQUEEZE WAS GREAT

Too old. No voices left. Tribute tour but poor quality. No enthusiasm and dead sounding band

1.0 star rating Kevin Burke from PNC Bank Arts Center, Holmdel, NJ

VERY DISAPPOINTING

Don’t even know where to begin, sound was terrible, Hall was all over the place and throwing F bombs at the sound guys. They didn’t play long and just flat out were off their game or at least Daryl Hall was John Oates made the best of the situation. I think maybe this tour was not thought out. Either something is wrong or maybe they should have leave people with the memories
