GOOD SHOW AND A LOT OF FUN!

My husband took me to How the Grinch Stole Christmas for my birthday. As anticipated their are a lot of kids at the show. Go to the latest evening show if you want to avoid some of the kids. I saw quite a few 3 and 4 year old children who didn't have a clue as to what was going on. I think a waste considering the cost of tickets but to each their own. Big, beautiful costumes, fun songs, large sets, a lot of Razzle Dazzle which I like in a theater production. The 9 year old girl next to me turned on her cell phone half way through the show. I was just about to tell her to turn it off when she turned it off. The show stays true to the story. As another parent mentioned the show gives away the fact that your parents are Santa Claus!! Not good. We enjoyed the show. Get tickets down front sit back and be entertained.

ADORABLE, AMAZING!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this show, as did the children in the theater. It was fun for all ages. I was impressed by the quality of the performance, and the actor of the Grinch himself blew me away! He was engaging, funny, and talented!! This was such a fun night, I’d highly recommend it. :)

AMAZING!!

I saw this show a few years ago at the St. James Theater and (because it was so much fun!) had to go back this year at MSG. I'm still blown away by how well done it is. They really bring the entire "Whoville community" to life in a modern and thoughtful way without ever sacrificing the original intent of the adorable Dr. Seuss methodology. I left the theater humming "You're a Mean One!" Don't miss this show this year!! Although it should be a perennial favorite, who knows when it will play NYC again?? (PS where's the cast recording!?!?!?!) HB

OK

Definitely a cute show for kids under the age of 10. The sets were beautiful and the story very close to the book. The advertised run time was 90 minutes and we were out of the theater within 75 minutes. My only complaint is the price. $85 for 65 minutes of theater seems overpriced. We ate at Rustic Kitchen after. Excellent meal!

BAD SOUND LESSENED THE EXPERIENCE -12/8/2021

Not sure if it was only the front rows but sound was awful. There was a reported sound issue that they were working on before the doors opened but don't believe is was fixed. We were in Row D and couldn't understand most if not all words/songs. Only The Grinch was clear enough and sadly Cindy Loo Who was barely understandable. Great costumes and fun evening but need better acoustics.

GOOD SHOW FOR KIDS UNDER 10

Worse show ever. The theater nothing we can do about it. It's what it is. Was this a real Broadway show?

BEST SEEN FROM THE EYES OF AN 8 YEAR OLD.

My kids are in their 20's but we always watched the cartoon and Jim Carrey versions of the Grinch. We thought it would be a fun evening to go see the Grinch at the Wang, have a cocktail, dinner and a show. First off, it is definitely written to be entertaining to 8 year olds, no "adult" humor here. It feels as if the story is more about how badly Max (the dog) is treated by the Grinch. Most of the characters are not very memorable, the Grinch role is spiritedly done but again best viewed as an 8 year old. The set pieces are done in appropriate style but seem like they are no better than a good high school's version, i.e. pretty simplistic. The Wang is beautiful and should be visited at some point, but save your money - and your 80 minutes - for a different show....unless you are 8 years old.
