Tosca Returns To Detroit!

Puccini's seminal opera, Tosca, returns to the Detroit Opera House this autumn for three nights only. Conducted by Roberto Kalb and directed by Louisa Proske.

Experience the Thrill ride of Puccin's Tosca

Considered to be one of Puccini's greatest and most accessible works, Tosca is the ultimate operatic exploration of romance and tragedy. A melodramatic rollercoaster of emotions, the opera careens from love to lust, betrayal and murder as fiery titular heroine Floria Tosca attempts to wrench her destiny, and that of her lover, into her own hands.

Tosca is seen as a perfect 'starter' opera, as its plot is easy to make out regardless of language barriers and its music inherently memorable. Expansive, soaring melodies bolster the opera's fast-paced and thrilling dramatic action, enthralling audiences since it first debut at the turn of the century.
