Why See Kathleen Battle?
Battle is back!
Kathleen Battle lends her glorious soprano voice to an uplifting evening of music that's in celebration of African-American Appreciation month. Backed by an extensive array of musicians and live singers, this powerful evening will have writings by Frederick Douglass and Harriet Tubman through readings and song, and will also explore spiritual traditions.
Battle first debuted in 1975, since then her career has taken her all over the world and is now one of the most celebrated Soprano's in the genre. Kathleen Battle has received many accolades and awards throughout her career, these include winning five Academy Awards and three Grammy's, as well as singing for the Pope when he visited the White House in 2008.
