Scottish alternative rock icons The Jesus and Mary Chain and art-rock legends The Psychedelic Furs join forces for a tour of North America this fall! Coming to prominence during the shoegaze movements of the 1980s, Jesus and Mary Chain's string of successful albums helped to popularize the genre, with singles such as "Sometimes Always" bringing their sound to a wider audience. The Psychedelic Furs meanwhile were founded in London and first came to the notice of mainstream American audiences in 1986 when director John Hughes used their their song "Pretty in Pink" in his movie of the same name, with their accompanying album Talk, Talk, Talk becoming their breakthrough.
Although The Jesus and Mary Chain officially broke up in 1999, in reality it had effectively happened onstage the year before in explosive fashion, when William Reid left the stage mid-set at the House of Blues in LA after having had an altercation with guitarist Ben Lurie pre-show. Thankfully the band (minus Lurie) put the past behind them in 2007, re-uniting for Coachella in 2007 and continuing on where they left off, to the delight of fans. Psychedelic Furs also returned to prominence in 2017 when their song 'The Ghost In You' was featured on Netflix's Stranger Things. Don't miss these iconic bands on the road together, playing hits from their entire careers!
