The opera recounts a single "mad" day in the palace of Count Almaviva, whose wife, Rosina, unhappy in her married life, is pursued by the Count's page. At the same time, Count Almaviva is pursuing his servant Susanna, who is engaged to Figaro, the Count's valet.
